It is actually not a policy at all. There are no options listed or procedures stated. They simply say they will handle it on a case by case basis (as they always have). I have spoken to Brad Johnson and Tim Johnson, and both have told me the only option we trans people have is to pay for a more expensive room either suite style or by ourselves. Pay more money and still not get to room with the gender you identify as?! No thank you! This is not good enough and the fact they put a tab on their website saying they are about inclusivity and equal rights doesn’t make it true. So please be aware that nothing has actually improved, it’s just that they are acknowledging our existence and telling us to our face that the only thing that matters is our legal sex/designated birth sex. Pleas speak out if you hear people who are supporting this and excited about it and let them know why it isn’t actually as inclusive and equal as housing would have you believe.
